FAQs

Q: I am new to the service, what now?

A: You can visit The Pavlov Media Knowledgebase to download a copy of the Pavlov Media Reference Guide from the Downloads section.

Q: I keep being directed to a page asking me to register my device. I do not understand what this is?

A: This is our registration page. It is where you set up a username and identify your device(s) that will be accessing the network. You can find detailed instructions for this in The Pavlov Media Knowledgebase.

Q: Why do I need to register?

A: Registration allows us to computers infected with viruses and spammers from the network. This helps to provide a stable, reliable service for our customers.

Q: I would like to upgrade to faster internet speeds, can I do that?

A: Different locations offer different speeds and packages. You can log into myaccount.pavlovmedia.net to see all available options for your location. You can also use our online support or call us at 1-888-4PAVLOV.

Q: What is a MAC address?

A: A media access control (MAC) address is a unique identifier attached to a network interface or wireless card. The network interface or wireless cards in two different computers will have two unique identifiers, as would multiple pieces of equipment attached to a personal router.

Q: Does Pavlov Media have a News or NNTP server?

A: Currently, Pavlov Media does not provide a network news service.

Q: What is a firewall, and why would I need one?

A: A firewall is a device that disguises your IP address by placing the number on a dedicated and protected device. The device then forwards valid information that had been requested by the system. This device protects from most random attacks and provides remarkable security to most end users. The drawback to using this device is that certain programs may not work with it (MSN file transfer, most LAN games, most VPN clients, etc.).
