Position Summary:

The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and expanding of our existing Linux systems, including hardware, software, and infrastructure. The applicant must be capable of implementing and supporting high-performance, scalable, highly available computing platforms. This person would engage in technical research and development of new and existing systems to meet the needs of Pavlov Media’s customers, partners, and employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary systems administrator of Linux servers and services: Maintaining, implementing and troubleshooting of various Linux based systems and applications
  • Formulating and maintaining precise documentation of IT standards and systems implementation and configuration details
  • Maintain and audit user accounts
  • Manage file server utilization (share folders, quotas, etc.)
  • Track vulnerabilities and apply appropriate patches and upgrades
  • Monitor and generate statistics of performance of Linux systems and related environments
  • Install and maintain Linux and third party software on our servers and VMs
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of system performance and management tools and products
  • Perform system enhancements: plan and direct upgrades of operating systems and products
  • Support reliable system backups and disaster recovery of Linux systems
  • Ensure systems team support requests are answered within a timely manner
  • Performing all other duties as assigned
