NOC Video Technician

Position Summary:

The NOC Video Tech is responsible for the distribution of video to Pavlov Media customers.

NOC Video Techs will assist with activities required for the installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment associated with the video headend and signal transmission network. This role will also assist in maintaining all network elements including router and switches utilized to provide IPTV signal to our customers. Additionally, this role must follow up with customers after installations or service additions to ensure quality service.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assist with internal Video project initiatives
    • Share information and provide feedback to internal teams on a consistent basis
    • Assist with upkeep on network documentation
    • Ensure that network quality meets Pavlov Media standards
    • Serve as an escalation point for all Video related issues
    Customer Service
    • Maintain a customer first attitude to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Maintains personal relationships and good communication with property staff, clients, other sub-contractors or any other important point of contact
    • Helps identify and coordinate local contract labor for work orders in their region
    • Field all calls, emails, and work orders from Pavlov Media HQ
    Technical Ability
    • Provides technical, procedural, and product guidance to our field technicians and contractors
    • Travel to each assigned site as needed to perform low-voltage cabling work, outside plant work, electronics work, and Video troubleshooting.
    • Work with Pavlov Media construction teams to deploy Video headend and infrastructure solutions
    • Demonstrate effective Video troubleshooting skills and the ability to use them
    • Understand network diagrams and other technical manuals

    • Basic knowledge of video encryption protocols
    • Basic knowledge of RFoG architectures
    • Basic knowledge of IPTV architectures
    • Ability to install a satellite dish and associated peripherals
    • Ability to install video taps and splitters
    • Proven ability to support Video headend systems
    • Proven ability to support Video distribution systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot RF issues on a video network
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows (7, 8 or 10) Macintosh, Adobe Acrobat. PC hardware and Microsoft Office Suite applications

    Experience Requirements and Positives:

    • One (1) year of experience with the techniques, application and installation of grounding, RG6, RG11, splitters, taps, optical nodes, and fiber optics
    • Two (2) year of experience with experience in troubleshooting video issues
    • One (1) years of experience with the video techniques, application and installation of hardline distribution, satellite installations, RF distribution, CATV, QAM, HDTV, SMATV, IPTV, or other video technologies
    • Travel 10% of the time
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Ability to use hand tools
    • Current driver license
