Senior Java Developer

The Senior Java Developer must be a reliable and quick learner who is responsible for contributing to enterprise Java codebases. This person would engage in requirements collection during research and discovery phases of multiple projects. This role is also responsible for mentoring other developers. Furthermore, this role would be expected to rapidly develop prototype solutions. This is a full time position.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide mentoring, coaching, and knowledge transfer to colleagues
    • Develop solutions using OSGi and Java 8
    • Continue to enhance technical knowledge and capabilities
    • Independently execute technology-oriented research tasks
    • Seek leadership and guidance of colleagues
    • Rapidly prototype new business models

    Professional Requirements:

    • B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience
    • Strong software architecture skills
    • Rapidly work toward milestones
    • Shift priorities as needed to meet business requirements and deadlines
    • Work in a collaborative team environment
    • Interact with a highly distributed team over video teleconferencing
    • Prioritize, time manage, and solve problems
    • Use git for collaborative source control
    • Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies; BPMN, Apache Felix, Elasticsearch, JAX-RS, REST, Maven
    • English speaking skills required

    The following skills are considered a plus:

    • IP Networking
    • Experience developing on Linux platforms
    • Docker
    • Java 8 lambdas and streaming techniques
    • Code generation
    • Swagger
